Are you looking to sell your home and want to know how to increase your home’s value quickly? Well, then you’re in the right place.

Today, I’m going to share with you some fantastic budget friendly and quick home improvement ideas that will help you increase your home’s value.

Hi, I’m Charlotte. You’re Thurston County real estate broker.

First up, curb appeal.

First impressions definitely matter. They matter in a job search in dating and in house hunting. That’s why we’ll start here with improving your home’s curb appeal. A well-maintained exterior can make potential buyers fall in love with your property before they actually even go inside.

So let’s talk about some of the things you can do for curb appeal.

Number one, enhance landscaping.

Consider adding some colorful flowers and plants, mulching the garden beds, and ensuring the lawn is well manicured. These small changes can make a big difference in how your home looks from the street.

Number two, paint the front door.

Painting your front door in an inviting color can create a warm welcome. It’s a quick and affordable update that can instantly boost your home’s curb appeal.

Next, interior improvements.

Now let’s move inside and explore some budget friendly interior improvements that can add significant value to your home.

Number one, paint walls and ceilings.

A fresh coat of paint can work wonders. It can take a room from feeling dated to fresh really quickly. Stick with neutral colors to appeal to a broader range of potential buyers.

Stay tuned to the end and to find out how to get my color recommendations.

Number two Upgrade fixtures.

Consider replacing old light fixtures, cabinet handles and faucets. Now, these small changes can make your home feel more modern without breaking the bank. Cabinet handles can add up, so I recommend that if you’re on a lower budget focusing on light fixtures and faucets first. But if you do have the budget, changing cabinet handles up can make a huge impact.

Number three. Declutter and stage.

Decluttering your home and staging it effectively can make it more appealing to buyers. You want them to envision themselves living there. If your house is cramped and crowded with different items and knickknacks, it makes it really hard for buyers to see anything but the overwhelm. Not only does it make the space feel much smaller, but there’s no way they can envision themselves living in a space. Just decluttering alone will make a huge difference. And you’re trying to move anyway, so pack it all up.

Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to set the stage with, well, staging. You want the space to look its best and appeal to the biggest pool of potential buyers. And so to do this, it might require packaging up some of your personal beloved furniture and belongings and bring in temporary furnishings from a stager to give your home a more modern model home look. Or it might be just to add a few bits here and there to just kind of give it a little something.

The point is, don’t skip the step. These two make a huge, huge difference.

Kitchen and bathroom.

The kitchen and bathroom are often the most critical areas for buyers. But guess what? When you look at the top five renovations that get you your highest ROI, kitchens and bathrooms aren’t on the list.

Let me know in the comments below if you want me to do a video about renovations and which to do for resale and what to do for your enjoyment. But for now, let’s talk about some cost effective ways to upgrade these spaces.

Paint cabinets.

If your kitchen cabinets are dated, consider giving them a facelift with a fresh coat of paint. It’s an extremely cost effective way to transform that space.

Replace hardware and faucets.

As I mentioned earlier, updating cabinet hardware and faucets can modernize your kitchen and bathroom without a major renovation.

Clean and repair grout

In the bathroom and in the kitchen, if you have some in there, ensure that the grout is clean and in good condition. Re-grouting, if necessary, can make your rooms look fresh and clean. The same goes for caulking. Clean up those sinks, tubs, all the stuff with new caulking. Not only does it make a room look better, but it is so important for home maintenance.

Energy efficiency.

Home buyers are increasingly interested in energy efficient features, but replacing that HVAC system might not be in the budget. So let’s explore some quick improvements that can make your home more energy efficient.

Seal gaps and cracks.

Sealing gaps and cracks in windows and doors can improve insulation and save on energy bills.

Upgrade to LED lighting, replacing old incandescent bulbs with energy efficient LED lighting is a simple change that can impress potential buyers.

Minor repairs.

Don’t overlook the minor repairs. They may seem insignificant, but they can make a big difference in a buyer’s perception of your home. Fix leaky faucets. Leaky faucets may not seem like a big deal, but they can suggest neglect. So fixing them is an easy win.

Repair damaged walls.

Patch up any holes or cracks in your walls. A little spackling and a fresh coat of paint can make a room look brand new.

Well, there you have it, folks. These budget friendly and quick home improvement ideas can help increase your home’s value and attract potential buyers. Remember first impressions matter. So start with a curb appeal, then move on to interior updates, focus on the kitchen and bathroom, improve energy efficiency and take care of those minor repairs.
